About the Louisville Munch

The Louisville Munch was founded on October 4th, 1997, and is one of the longest continuously running local kink events in the world. It was designed from the beginning to be an open place where like-minded individuals interested in kink, BDSM, fetish, bondage, power exchange, and related interests could gather socially in a neutral and public space for one purpose: to foster fellowship. If you’d like to read more about the Louisville Munch Origin Story, follow the link to read an article by its founder, Ms. Constance.

We are not an official or legally-recognized entity, but rather an ever-evolving loose network of people in the region who seek to be around others who understand and share our interests. There is no “membership” and therefore no membership fee, no treasury, and no attendance requirement to fill. If you show up, you’re part of the group!

We are accessible to all people 18 and older, regardless of knowledge level, experience, gender identity, romantic or sexual orientation, relationship status or strategy, or abilities. Our attendees represent a wide spectrum of interests, activities, races, spiritual backgrounds, social and economic origins, education, and experience. In short, if you’re interested in kink, you belong with us.

We host several regularly occurring events each month, on a predictable schedule. For a list of all of our upcoming events, visit our Calendar Page. All of our events are held in public spaces, whether they be restaurants, coffee shops, or bars, etc., and there is never any fee to attend. You are only responsible for whatever refreshments you order, and a tip for the wait staff that may be serving us.

The two main pillars that our group is built around are consent and discretion. Maintaining consensual interactions with our other attendees is mandatory, as is maintaining our shared ethic of discretion. Consent is mandatory everywhere else in the world and in your life, and Louisville Munch is no different. What is perhaps different, is our expectation of discretion and privacy. We as a whole agree that your attendance and participation with the group is nobody else’s business, and you in turn agree to keep our attendance and participation in confidence. These two main concepts keep the group safer and more enjoyable for everyone to attend.

If you’re interested in being a part of it, there are other resources on this site for you that you may want to look at such as our Newcomer’s and FAQ Page. If you have any other questions before attending, you can always feel free to contact us at the links below. We hope that you will come visit us sometime and be a part of it! More people always equals more fellowship and opportunities for learning, and it keeps our community healthy and strong for more decades to come.
